Charlwood is one of three adjoining estates making up St. Michael's Manor - a tranquil, relaxing wetland eco-estate with abundant birdlife and small mammals, combining manicured gardens with natural bush. Charlwood offers a swimming pool and there is a gym, kiddies play areas and jungle gyms, tennis courts, and a bar and clubhouse at the main complex. The estate has impeccable 24hr security and access control with manned and patrolling guards for peace of mind. It is a short stroll to the main St. Michael's beach, favoured by surfers for its breakers, and families for its green lawns, tidal pool, fresh splash pool, lagoon with pedal boats and canoes, and seasonal water slides.  There are several restaurants and bars at the beachfront and in the area and the main shopping mall is just 1km away. 

This spacious, four bedroom two bathroom ground floor unit is beautifully appointed with custom handmade furnishings and only the best of new appliances and amenities.  The voluminous open plan living area combines a fully appointed kitchen with washing machine and dryer, to an eight-seater dining area, adjoining a comfortable lounge with 60" television and Premium DSTV.  The living area opens through stackable doors onto a large covered balcony, with an outdoor dining suite and gas braai, peacefully set amongst the natural bush. 

Generously accommodating eight guests, the king-size main bedroom has a full en-suite bathroom, the second bedroom has a queen bed and two more bedrooms each have a pair of double bunks.  There is a second full bathroom with a shower and bath.  The whole unit is on one level and while there are a couple of stairs leading down to the front entrance, the patio is accessible without stairs.  The unit has an electric double garage.  

Quality linen is provided for all the beds but guests are required to bring their own beach and bath towels.  Daily servicing of the unit is available on request.  Strict security measures require the details of all guests to be submitted five days prior to arrival along with acknowledgement of complex and house rules. 

The local area offers an abundance of attractions and activities.  With nine world class courses the area is popular with golfers;  scuba divers flock to our world famous reefs and wrecks;  and families charter ocean safaris, deep sea fishing or shark cage diving trips.  The magnificent Oribi Gorge, a 400m deep and 5km wide canyon, offers spectacular view sites and game drives, as well as a host of adrenalin activities including the world's highest bungi swing and world's first 'straight-down' 1km zipline, abseiling down a waterfall, white water rafting, suspension bridges, downhill scooter tours, horse riding and 4X4.  The Wild Coast Sun Casino is home to a water theme park with some of the world's fastest rides and their river club offers water skiing, jet skis, speedboats, tube rides and booze cruises.  We have butterfly, snake and crocodile farms with the world's oldest croc;  the world's smallest desert; a motor racing and drifting circuit; and our local airport offers daily flights to Johannesburg and scenic helicopter flips over the area and adjacent Wild Coast.  But most people visit simply for our perpetual warm weather and shark protected, world-class Blue Flag status beaches and lagoons with canoes, pedal boats, umbrellas and beach chairs for hire; and ice cream, cocktails and curios for sale.  Host to the famous Sardine Run and revolving beach events, there is never a dull moment on the South Coast.
