per nightThis free standing house with swimming pool, large entertainment areas and spectacular views over Margate beach is ideally situated above Margate town in a quieter road, but just a short stroll down a flight of stairs to a wide selection of beachfront restaurants and take-aways, pubs and cocktail bars, nightclubs and jazz bars. A favourite with holidaymakers, the kilometre long beach with paddling and olympic swimming pools, is host to seasonal beach events, live music, and a hive of activity and entertainment.
Ideal for groups of family or friends, the home sleeps eight guests in three tastefully furnished bedrooms: two rooms have a double and a single bed, and the third has two single beds. There are also two double sleeper couches in lounge area for kids or extra guests. The bedrooms are serviced by one bathroom with bath and shower, the toilet is separate. All the bedrooms open through sliding doors onto a large central patio and entertainment area with an outdoor table and built-in braai around a sparkling swimming pool. Off the patio there is a viewing and cocktail deck with seating and endless views over Margate, the beach, breakers and ocean beyond.
The patio opens through wide stackable doors to a spacious lounge with ample, comfortable seating and 54cm television with DVD and DSTV Family. This leads open plan to a family dining area and onto a large farm style kitchen with all the general day to day cooking amenities, double door fridge, washing machine and tumble drier.
The house is secure with palisade electric gate, alarm system with beams, and trellis doors throughout. There are two electric garages (not suitable for taller SUV's), a covered bay and further outdoor off-street parking for two vehicles. Linen is provided for the beds only, guests must provide their own beach and bath towels and bedding for sleeper couches if needed. The house is not serviced unless by arrangement. This is a budget house which is not modern but it is clean and comfortable, offers all the amenities and great sea views - it is favoured by groups of socialising friends.
The local area offers an abundance of attractions and activities. With nine world class courses the area is popular with golfers; scuba divers flock to our world famous reefs and wrecks; and families charter ocean safaris, deep sea fishing or shark cage diving trips. The magnificent Oribi Gorge, a 400m deep and 5km wide canyon, offers spectacular view sites and game drives, as well as a host of adrenalin activities including the world's highest bungi swing and world's first 'straight-down' 1km zipline, abseiling down a waterfall, white water rafting, suspension bridges, downhill scooter tours, horse riding and 4X4. The Wild Coast Sun Casino is home to a water theme park with some of the world's fastest rides and their river club offers water skiing, jet skis, speedboats, tube rides and booze cruises. We have butterfly, snake and crocodile farms with the world's oldest croc; the world's smallest desert; a motor racing and drifting circuit; and our local airport offers daily flights to Johannesburg and scenic helicopter flips over the area and adjacent Wild Coast. But most people visit simply for our perpetual warm weather and shark protected, world-class Blue Flag status beaches and lagoons with canoes, pedal boats, umbrellas and beach chairs for hire; and ice cream, cocktails and curios for sale. Host to the famous Sardine Run and revolving beach events, there is never a dull moment on the South Coast. Whether you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday, an adrenalin filled escapade, or a wining, dining, clubbing and pubbing shindig, the South Coast offers it all, and more.
